Why do we require a PageRank of at least one on the page you have linked to us from? In the last few months we have spent many hours linking to sites only to find out later that the owner of the site simply created a link exchange page but did not link to the page from their site. Therefor, no one will ever visit our site from that page and we will never receive any benefit from having taken the time to link to them. In almost every case, any web page that a search engine (in this instance Google) indexes will receive a PageRank of a least one. Therefor, all we are asking is that our link be placed on a "real" web page that is linked to from a "real" web site. We will, of course, disregard the PageRank requirement if it's obvious that your site is new (hasn't been indexed yet) but your intention is to exchange links for mutual benefit and are not simply trying to trick sites into linking to you for your benefit alone. _______________ If the above 2 paragraphs sound crazy to you, that's a good thing. It means you do not spend hours and days of your time trying to fool the Google algorithms. However, since you have created a web site, sooner or later you will find out just how far people will go in a never ending effort to increase their PR. Since this site is just a hobby, not a business, PageRank is not that important but we do appreciate how important it can be to others. However, we hope you will understand that we don't like being treated like an unimportant means to an end. The ends do not always justify the means. Especially when it wastes our time and effort. Thanks for visiting our web site. We hope you have the best day ever! |
