Clipart for white backgrounds (BGs) are best used on web pages with white or very light colored backgrounds. The images don't actually have a white BG, they have a white matte or matting. If you used these gifs on a black web page, for example, a small white halo would be seen around the image. However, if you use them on a light colored web page they would look the same as they appear right now.
Buttons with transparent backgrounds may be used on any color web page but look their best on medium and dark backgrounds including black.
The blank buttons were created so you may save and add your own text if needed. This way, as your site grows, you will never have trouble matching your color scheme.
